Denham & Monkey Mia

Wednesday 27th May:

While in Denham we hired a car and drove down to Monkey Mia, we watched the dolphins have breakfast and then joined Jill and Paul off “Elevation” for a ourown BIG breakfast at the resort restaurant. On the way back to Denham we had a look at Ocean Park, it was really interesting, the staff explained why the fish were not bighting at that time. There had recently been a big drop in water temperature, and all the local sea life were in shock and trying to re acclimatize.

By chance the guy we hired the car off was talking to Cathy’s previous boss David Bosch, he was telling David how these people that were sailing to Darwin had hired a car……… David guessed that it was us and rang Cathy. The next day we met and he took us to the Shell Mine that he now manages. It was fascinating, as was Eagle Bluff on the way back to Denham. David was also kind enough to deliver our old outboard back to the suppliers in Wangarra. Our new Mercury outboard is fantastic, thanks so much to Garry Cross for getting it to us while we were in Carnarvon.
